October 2009 Grant Awards

In October Shetland Charitable Trust funded 9 grants with a total amount of £10,408. 

There were three Support Grants awarded to the following local organisations:

• Peerie Breeks - annual running costs
• Virkie Mother and Toddler Group - annual running costs
• Whitedale Under Fives - annual running costs

There were also two Arts Grants awarded to:

• An individual to attend a masterclass course in Afro-Cuban Drumming
• Thomas Fraser Memorial Committee towards the cost of the 2009 Thomas Fraser Festival

There were two Senior Citizen Club Grants awarded to:

• Whalsay Senior Leisure Club - annual running costs
• Whiteness & Weisdale Good Companions - annual running costs

There was one Development Grant awarded to the Shetland Community Bike Project towards the cost of running a course in bicycle maintenance.  And there was one Support to Youth Centres Grant awarded to the Germatwatt Centre towards annual running costs of the Westside Youth Club.
