July 2009 Grant Awards

In July Shetland Charitable Trust funded 13 grants with a total amount of £16,244.  There were 8 Arts Grants  given to individuals funding separate events. The various events attended include:

• The Ethno Festival – music workshop in Sweden
• The Vesterveg Project -  an art project linking artists and museums in Norway, Shetland, Faroe and Iceland
• Scottish Sculpture Workshop
• African Drum Village Festival
• Hebridean Celtic Festival

Support grants were given to the Lerwick Sea Scout Group and Kinderquarff nursery. The Brae Youth Centre received funding for their annual running costs, and Walls public Hall and Ollaberry public hall also received money.
